The Botanist: A New Natural Impression

A gin bottle should feel like it grew from the same world as the gin inside. This packaging redesign brings the brand’s botanical character and natural history into the physical package, extending across the bottle, label, and outer box. The result feels less like a container and more like a crafted object with a life beyond the label.

Cultivating the Concept

The concept began with making The Botanist feel directly connected to the plants and ingredients behind the gin. Glass watering globes and potion bottles informed the rounded bottle shape, and the embossed botanicals gave the glass an apothecary-like quality. The handmade paper label reinforced the crafted quality of the package and kept the system connected to the natural world of the brand.

Botanicals You Can Feel

Botanicals such as berries, herbs, and spices are embossed on the glass. Each bottle variation draws from its distinct flavors, creating a vessel that feels crafted, collectible, and connected to the gin inside.

A Handmade Finish

The printed label uses a handmade paper texture to connect the bottle and gift box through a shared tactile quality. A refined serif typeface gives the packaging a crafted, elevated feel, while the restrained circular layout keeps the information clear and lets the embossed glass remain the main visual focus.

A Crafted Presence

The outer box extends the paper texture of the label into the full package. An open window cutout acts as a frame for the embossed glass, keeping the bottle visible and central to the presentation.

In Its Natural Habitat

The lifestyle imagery shows the bottle in moments of serving and display, while keeping the packaging as the main focus. Across each scene, the redesign maintains its crafted, elegant quality.
